How Secret Accomplice works
Your phone is in on the trick. Where you tap the orb tells it the answer.
A secret code in a tap
The orb looks like one big button. It is secretly split into nine zones, laid out just like the grid: a middle and eight slices around it. Your friend says their pick out loud. You notice where it sits on the grid. Then you tap the same place on the orb. Top left on the grid means the top left of the orb. The middle means the middle.
The phone checks which zone your finger landed in and shows the thing from that place on the grid. Your friend only sees you tap to start the reading.
Your phone is the accomplice
Magicians call a secret helper a stooge, or an accomplice. A stooge sits in the audience, acts like a stranger, and is in on the trick all along. Here, the accomplice is your phone. It never guesses. It just follows your tap. The grid is mixed up every round, so your friend canβt spot a pattern.
Perform it like a pro
Practice a few times first. Hold the phone so you can both see the grid. Rub your hands and hold them over the orb, like you are warming it up. Glance at the orb and tap, as if you are just starting the reading. Then look at your friend while it reads their mind.
